Three Crosses - Criminals who died with Jesus ************************************************ Jesus Christ did not die on the cross alone. Usually, we remember a cross. At that time, the Romans way of execution was crucifixion. The penalty under the law, as per the Bible, was stoning. People at that time often might have seen the death of people on the cross. On that day of  Passover, that is, the 14th of Abib, passers-by passing through Golgotha from Jerusalem would have seen three criminals hanged according to the custom on that day. When they have gone home, they might have said, “I saw three people hanging on the crosses today.”  “Three men - three crosses.” In a way, all three people are seen as the same.
