Know The Book of Zephaniah ***************** This book was written by "Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah" (Zeph 1:1). The time of its writing was "in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah" (Zeph 1:1). Hezekiah was the last good king to rule Judah. His great-grandsons were King Josiah and Zephaniah. Zephaniah belonged to the royal lineage. Therefore, he had the privilege of easy access to the palace. He is an important prophet because he is the only prophet whose genealogy is traced back to four generations, making him unique. The name Zephaniah means "Jehovah Hides". King Josiah ruled Judah from 640 – 609 BC. Given that Manasseh "made his son pass through the fire" (Sacrificed his own son in fire) (2 Kgs 21:6), so this name might have been given to Zephaniah because God hid and protected him from Manasseh. After Hezekiah, Manasseh reigned as king for 55 years, during which he live...

Malachi (God's Messenger-Farewell Speech) ***************** 1) Circumstances of the written period: In the Old Testament,  the book of Malachi ends with the word "curse" (curse- KJV). To the Jewish people, this was God's message of farewell and seemed like a book written for today's Christian society.  God remained silent until the Voice of John the  Baptist was heard in the wilderness 400 years after this book. It has been 100 years since the Jewish people came to Jerusalem from 70 years of Babylonian slavery. It's been the 3rd and 4th generations. In Babylon, the Jews, unlike slavery in Egypt,  built houses, planted vineyards, traded, and prospered. Only  3-5% of the  Jews returned. Things are not so exciting in Jerusalem now. They do not have the enthusiasm (fire) of those who came in the beginning. The word Malachi means messenger. The book was written between 432  and 425 B.C. Jerusalem was not much inhabited and empty. They lived in villages for ...

Enoch (Gen.5:21-24) ***************** Enoch's life was wonderful, having been living with God in heaven for 5,370 years. He lived on this earth in which we are living for 365 years. So he is still living in the body without seeing death for about 5735 years. This Enoch was born in the 622nd year after the creation of Adam. He was taken by God without seeing death, the 987th year since Adam was created. So Enoch, Adam (created year 0), Seth (born year 130). Enos (born in the year 235), Cainan  (325), Mahaliel (395), Jared (460), Enoch (622), Methuselah (687), Lamech  (874), and Enoch lived with those born from the creation of Adam. Adam was 622 years old when Enoch was born. In his 365 years of earthly life, Adam was the only dead person mentioned in the Bible during his time. Abel was murdered before Enoch was born. Enoch begat Methuselah when he was 65 years old. After that, he walked with God for 300 years. It is said that during that time, he gave birth to sons and daughter...

The Holy Bible - An Introduction ***************** "The Holy Bible is not a book but a library, a library with many books." The Roman emperor Diocletian built a memorial pillar in A.D. 301-304, declaring that he had burnt all the Bibles in our hands. Tyndale was burned alive for this, and Jan Huss was burnt for translation. The bones of Wycliffe—exhumed and burned—40 years after his death, and so on. Ancient traditional Christianity was an enemy of true Christians and the Bible. The blood and life sacrificed to get this Bible in our hands is immeasurable. The Bible is divided into two sections:    Old Testament - Old Covenant, with 39 books, and New Testament - New Covenant, with 27 books. It was written by different people from many different backgrounds, at many different times, and for people in many situations. It was written over a period of about 1500 years - in Asia, Africa, and Europe. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and parts of Daniel, Haggai, and Zechariah...
