"Be a River - Not a Reservoir"

Two Seas - One Fact

The Promised Land - To the east of the land of Israel, there are two seas: the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea (Salt Sea). The Jordan River connects these two seas. The snow melts on Mount Hermon, north of Israel, and the water turns into a small river and falls into the Sea of Galilee. All the water that flows in this way becomes the Jordan River in the southern part of the sea, flows in the eastern part of Israel, and falls into the Dead Sea. The water that flows into the Dead Sea does not flow out of it because the Dead Sea is so deep in the earth's crust that all the water evaporates. 

Both seas are fed by the same river, but there are plenty of fish in the Sea of Galilee. The disciples caught fish, and there were plants, so there was life in the Sea of Galilee. But the Dead Sea has no fish and no plants; there is no life, hence it is called the Dead Sea.

The Sea of Galilee has life in it because it gives up all the water that comes into it; it is blessed. As the Dead Sea retains the water that enters it, it becomes too salty and lifeless.

When the blessings that come into us in the Christian life flow out of us to benefit others, we are blessed and have life within us. If we hold back the blessings that come into us like the Dead Sea, we will have no life and will start to stink.

It is to signify that these two seas are given in the scriptures to the east of Israel.

இரண்டு கடல்கள் - ஒரு உண்மை

வாக்குத்தத்த பூமி- இஸ்ரேல் நாட்டுக்குக் கிழக்கே இரண்டு கடல்கள் இருக்கின்றன. கலிலேயா கடல் மற்றும் சவக்கடல் (உப்புக் கடல்). இந்த இரண்டு கடல்களையும்  யோர்தான் நதி இணைக்கிறது. இஸ்ரேல் நாட்டுக்கு வடக்கே இருக்கும் எர்மோன் மலையில் பனி உருகி,  தண்ணீர் சிறு நதியாக மாறி கலிலேயா கடலில் விழுகிறது. இவ்வாறு பாயும் அனைத்துத் தண்ணீரும் அக்கடலின் தென் பகுதியில் யோர்தான் நதியாக மாறி இஸ்ரேலின் கிழக்குப்பகுதியில் ஓடி சவக்கடலினுள்  விழுகிறது. சவக்கடலில் பாயும் தண்ணீர் அதிலிருந்து வெளியே செல்வதில்லை. உலகின் தரைப்பகுதியில் ஆழமான இடத்தில் சவக்கடலிருப்பதால் அனைத்து தண்ணீரும் ஆவியாகியே வெளியேறுகிறது.   

இரண்டு கடல்களுக்கும் ஒரே நதியின் தண்ணீரே பாய்கிறது. ஆனால் கலிலேயா கடலில் மீன்கள் ஏராளம் இருக்கிறது. சீஷர்கள் மீன் பிடித்தார்கள். தாவரங்கள் இருக்கிறது. எனவே கலிலேயா கடலில் ஜீவன் இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் சவக்கடலில் மீன்கள் இல்லை, தாவரங்கள் இல்லை. எந்த ஜீவனும்  இல்லை. எனவே அது சவக்கடல் (Dead Sea) என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. 

கலிலேயா கடல் தனக்குள் வரும் தண்ணீர் அனைத்தையும் கொடுத்து விடுவதால் அதனுள் உயிர் இருக்கிறது. அது ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுகிறது. சவக்கடல் தன்னுள் வரும் தண்ணீரை அப்படியே தனக்குள்ளே வைத்துக்கொள்வதால் உப்புச் சத்து அதிகமாகி அதனுள் உயிர் இல்லாமலாகிவிடுகிறது.

கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்க்கையில் நமக்குள் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் பயன்படும்படி நம்மிடத்திலிருந்து வெளியே பாய்ந்தால் நாம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவோம், நமக்குள் ஜீவன் இருக்கும். நமக்குள் வரும் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை சவக்கடல்போல நாமே அடக்கி வைத்துக்கொண்டால், நமக்குள் ஜீவன் இருக்காது, நாற்றமெடுக்க ஆரம்பித்து விடும்.

இதை உணர்த்தவே இந்த இரண்டுக்கடல்களும் இஸ்ரேலின் கிழக்கே இருப்பது வேதத்தில்  கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
