"Faith Overcomes, Truth Sets Free"
The Canaanite woman (Mark 7:24-30, Matthew 15:21-28)************************
In our families, church, and society, we are given children created in the image of God. They are addicted to bad habits and have lost their self-thinking, and they are unable to fulfill the purpose set by God in the work for the Kingdom of God. Families are broken into pieces when they get caught in the devil's grip and go astray. This event is written for us to see how nervous parents are.
This daughter, too, has lost her youth, lost her purpose in life, and is reduced to a pitiable condition. This incident makes it clear to us that the solution is only Jesus.
1. Jesus visits Tyre and Sidon
From there, He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden. (Mark 7:24). (In the preceding verses, the Pharisees and Scribes argued with Jesus about many traditions.) Jesus left Jerusalem to be alone and came to the cities of Tyre and Sidon (199 km away) and wanted to be quiet in a house so that no one would know.
The cities of Tyre and Sidon were given to the tribe of Asher when the land of Canaan was divided by Joshua. (Joshua 19:24-29). The Canaanites lived there because the Israelites did not chase the Canaanites out of that place. These Canaanites were cursed by Noah. They worshiped the gods Astaroth, Moloch, and Baal. Their lives are full of wickedness.
2. Arrival of the Canaanite Woman
When Jesus came to rest like this, a Canaanite woman who lived in that region came to him. The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter, falling at the feet of Jesus. And cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” (Mat.15:22). In the Canaanite woman's house - she might have had a dream about her daughter. But the situation at home is miserable. The devil's groaning and gnashing of teeth are heard more and more. She might have been devastated to see the things her daughter was doing without self-awareness.
How this unclean spirit entered her is not given. If we examine it, we will come to know many facts.
3. How the unclean spirit attacks
These Canaanites worshiped many gods and deities. They practiced practice sorcery, divination, fortune-telling, etc. To cure diseases, they practiced sorcery. Through these things, unclean spirits enter the house. These devils were tormenting and destroying the woman’s daughter. (John 10:10 says, “The thief (devil) does not come except to steal and to kill.”).
Even today, magic games, subconscious meditation, number games, talking to the dead, and reading Harry Potter books are common among teenagers. In this way, they are caught by the devil and separated from worldly life. Also, they are addicted to television, mobile phone, video games, porn videos, serials, and games, and lose their memory and live in a different world. Sometimes, they even forget to eat. We also read in the newspapers they commit suicide when their parents stop them. Our houses also become the devil's house because of our actions. Some of the scenes in the television programs we watch at home give space for the unclean spirits to enter our homes without our knowledge. It also affects our children. Like this, only the woman’s daughter's plight tormented her.
4. Saying Son of David
At this time, she came to know that Jesus had come to her town. She ran and fell at his feet and said, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” Her request was specific. Her name and daughter's name were not given. Instead of calling Jesus 'Teacher-Prophet-Lord' she called Him 'Son of David.' She knew that Jesus Christ was the Lord of the Jews. If you look at this closely, it looks like she has tried every Canaanite god and now comes to the God of the Jews. She understood the 'Messiah nature' of Jesus, which the Jews did not. But Jesus neither answered nor gave attention to her. This shows different attitudes of Jesus. The disciples did not like her presence near the feet of Jesus and did not feel mercy for her. They prayed to Jesus to send her away.
5. Answers of Jesus
For her request, Jesus looked at her and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Mat. 15:24). She again bowed to Jesus, saying, "Lord, help me." Then Jesus said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” (Mat. 15:26). Examining Jesus' response reveals some truths. As the woman called him "Son of David," (Jesus said -That's right, I came for the lost Israel. You call me 'Son of David' too.) How can you ask for what is theirs? The kingdom is theirs. They are the chosen ones. So it looks like Jesus said, “It is not good to take the children's bread and give it to the dogs”
The woman's expression was overwhelming. "And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (Mat.15:27). Wonderful truth. Christ came for the Jews. So - Salvation belongs to them. She knew that after the ministry to the Jews was over, the gospel would come to the Gentiles. She asked for the crumbs which fell from the table. She asked what was left over. She asked for the spillover and said it was enough. She knew the purpose of Jesus' coming to the world. She knows the truth. Truth has set her free.
6. Healing by sending the WORD
She knew that salvation was for the Jews first, then for the Gentiles. She exercised her faith. Faith is important.
Jesus looked at the woman and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (Mat. 15:28). "He sent His WORD and healed them" (Ps.107:20). This verse is fulfilled here. Her daughter's shattered life was rebuilt.
7. Know the truth
God had a great plan for this woman's daughter. Satan planned to destroy it. Because the woman came to the right person, Jesus, her daughter's life was rebuilt.
There is no mention of this woman-daughter again in the scriptures. Their names were not given. But this event continues to revive broken families and many shattered lives even today. We also provide our children with the best food, clothing, comfort, and education. But as good parents and good guides, we fail to guard against the evil habit coming to them.
The scriptures say, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

the WORD, and it will set you free.

நமது குடும்பங்களில், சபையில், சமுதாயத்தில், தேவனுடைய சாயலில் சிருஷ்டிக்கப்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் கொடுக்கப் பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக்கட்டும் பணியில் தேவன் வைத்த நோக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்ற முடியாமல் இவர்கள் கெட்ட பழக்க வழக்கங்களுக்கு அடிமையாகி, சுய சிந்தனையை இழந்து இருக்கிறார்கள். இப்படி பிசாசின் பிடியில் சிக்கி, வழி விலகி போகும்போது குடும்பங்கள் சுக்கு நூறாக உடைந்துபோகிறது. பெற்றோர்கள் எவ்வளவு பதறுகிறார்கள் என்பதற்கு இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நமக்கு எழுதிக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இந்த மகளும் தன் இளமையை இழந்து, வாழ்வின் நோக்கத்தையும் இழந்து, ஒரு பரிதாப நிலைக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளாள். இதற்கு தீர்வு இயேசுவே என்பதை இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நமக்கு தெளிவுபடுத்துகிறது.
1. இயேசு தீரு, சீதோன் வருகை
"பின்பு அவர் எழுந்து அவ்விடம் விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, தீரு சீதோன் பட்டணங்களின் எல்லைகளில் போய், ஒரு வீட்டுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, ஒருவரும் அதை அறியாதிருக்க விரும்பியும், அவர் மறைவாயிருக்கக் கூடாமற்போயிற்று. (மாற்.7:24) (இதற்கு முந்தின வசனங்களில், பரிசேயரும், வேதபாரகர்களும் இயேசுவிடம் பல பாரம்பரியங்களைக் குறித்து தர்க்கம் பண்ணினார்கள்.) இயேசு எருசலேமைவிட்டு தனியாக இருக்கும்படி தீரு, சீதோன் பட்டணங்களுக்கு வந்து( 199 கி.மீ தூரம்)அங்கே ஒரு வீட்டில் யாரும் அறியாதபடி, அமைதியாக இருக்க விரும்பினார்.
தீரு, சீதோன் பட்டணங்கள்,யோசுவாவால் கானான் தேசம் பங்கிடப்பட்டபோது ஆசேர் கோத்திரத்துக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. (யோசு.19:24-29). அந்த இடத்திலிருந்த கானனியரை இஸ்ரவேலர் துரத்திவிடாதபடியால் கானானியர் அங்கே வசித்து வந்தனர். இந்த கானானியர் நோவாவால் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். அஸ்தரோத், மோளோகு, பாகால் தேவர்களை வழிபட்டு வந்தனர். இவர்கள் வாழ்க்கை துன்மார்க்கம் நிறைந்தது.
2. கானானிய பெண் வருகை
இயேசு இப்படி இளைப்பாற வந்தபோது, அந்தத் திசைகளில் குடியிருக்கிற கானானிய ஸ்திரீ ஒருத்தி அவரிடத்தில் வந்தாள். அவள், "சீரோபேனிக்கியா" தேசத்து கிரேக்க பெண். இயேசுவின் பாதத்தில் விழுந்து, "இயேசுவே, தாவீதின் குமாரனே எனக்கு இரங்கும், என் மகள் பிசாசினால் கொடிய வேதனைப்படுகிறாள் என்றுச்சொல்லிக் கூப்பிட்டாள்". ( மத்.15:22). அந்த கானானியப் பெண்ணின் வீட்டில்- அவள் தன் மகளைக்குறித்து ஒரு கனவு வைத்திருந்திருப்பாள். ஆனால் வீட்டில் பரிதாபமான நிலை. பிசாசின் கூக்குரலும், பற்கடிப்பும் அதிகமாகக் கேட்கிறது. மகள் சுய அறிவின்றி செய்யக்கூடிய காரியங்களைப் பார்த்து உடைந்து போயிருப்பாள்.
இந்த அசுத்தாவி எப்படி அவளை பற்றியது என்று கொடுக்கப் படவில்லை. அதை ஆராய்ந்தால் நமக்கு அநேக உண்மைகள் தெரிய வரும்.
3. அசுத்தாவி தாக்கும் விதம்
இந்த கானானியர் அநேக தேவர், தேவதைகளை வணங்குபவர்கள். மந்திரவாதம், குறிசொல்லுதல், அருள்வாக்கு கேட்பது போன்ற காரியங்களைச் செய்பவர்கள். நோய்களை குணமாக்க மாந்திரீகம் செய்பவர்கள். இந்த காரியங்கள்மூலம் அசுத்த ஆவிகள் ( சக்திகள்) வீட்டுக்குள் வருகின்றது. இந்த பிசாசுகள் அந்தப்பெண்ணை கொடிய வேதனைப்படுத்தி அழித்து கொண்டிருந்தது.("திருடன், திருடவும், கொல்லவும் அழிக்கவும் வருகிறான்" யோவா.10:10 என்றிருக்கிறது.)
இன்றும் வாலிபர்கள் மத்தியில் மந்திர விளையாட்டுக்கள், ஆழ் நிலை தியானம், எண் விளையாட்டுக்கள், மரித்தவரோடு பேசுதல், Harry Potter புஸ்தகம் படிப்பது சாதாரணமாக இருக்கிறது. இப்படி பிசாசால் பிடிபட்டு உலக வாழ்வை விட்டு தனித்துக் காணப்படுகின்றனர். மேலும், தொலை காட்சி, மொபைல் போன், வீடியோ கேம்ஸ், ஆபாச வீடியோ, சீரியல், விளையாட்டுக்களுக்கு அடிமையாகி, நினைவிழந்து, வேறு உலகத்தில் வாழ்கின்றார்கள். சில நேரங்களில் சாப்பிடுவதையும் மறந்து விடுவார்கள். இதை பெற்றோர் தடுக்கும் போது தற்கொலை செய்து கொள்வதையும் நாம் பத்திரிகைகளில் படிக்கிறோம். நமது வீடுகளும் நம் செயல்களால் பிசாசின் வீடாகிறது. வீட்டில் நாம் பார்க்கும் தொலைக்காட்சி நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் சில காட்சிகள் நம்மை அறியாமலே, நம் வீட்டை, அந்த அசுத்த சக்திகள் நுழைய இடம் கொடுத்துவிடுகிறது . இது பிள்ளைகளையும் அலைக்கழிக்கிறது. தனது மகளின் பரிதாப நிலை அவளை வதைத்தது.
4. தாவீதின் குமாரன் எனல்
இந்த நேரத்தில் இயேசு தனது பட்டணத்துக்கு வந்ததை அறிந்தாள். ஓடோடி வந்து அவருடைய பாதத்தில் விழுந்து "தாவீதின் குமாரனே எனக்கு இரங்கும். என் மகள் பிசாசினால் கொடிய வேதனைப்படுகிறாள்" என்றாள். அவளுடைய வேண்டுதல் குறிப்பாக இருந்தது. இவளுடைய பெயர்,
மகளுடைய பெயர் கொடுக்கபடவில்லை. இயேசுவை 'போதகரே-தீர்க்கத்தரிசியே- ஆண்டவரே' என்று அழைக்காமல்" தாவீதின் குமாரனே" என்று அழைத்தாள். இயேசு கிறிஸ்து யூதர்களின் ஆண்டவர் என்று அறிந்திருந்தாள். இதை கூர்ந்து கவனித்தால், இவள் கானானிய கடவுள் எல்லாரிடத்திலும் முயற்சித்து இப்பொழுது யூதர்களின் தேவனிடத்தில் வந்தது போலத் தெரிகிறது. யூதர்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ளாத இயேசுவின் 'மேசியா தன்மை'யை அவள் புரிந்திருந்தாள். ஆனால் இயேசு பதில் சொல்லவோ, அவளை கண்டுகொள்ளவோ இல்லை. இது இயேசுவின் வித்தியாசமான நிலைப்பாட்டைக் காட்டுகிறது. இயேசு அண்டை அவள் இருப்பதை சீஷர்கள் விரும்பவுமில்லை இரக்கப்படவுமில்லை. அவளை அனுப்பிவிட இயேசுவிடம் வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
5. இயேசுவின் பதில்கள்
அவள் வேண்டுதலுக்கு இயேசு அவளைப்பார்த்து " காணாமல் போன ஆடுகளாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் வீட்டாரிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டேனேயன்றி, மற்றப்படியல்ல" என்றார்.( மத்.15:24). அவள் மீண்டும் "ஆண்டவரே எனக்கு உதவி செய்யும்" என்று சொல்லி இயேசுவைப் பணிந்து கொண்டாள். அப்பொழுது இயேசு," பிள்ளைகளின் அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, நாய்க்குட்டிகளுக்குப் போடுகிறது நல்லதல்ல" என்றார்.(மத் 15:26) இயேசுவின் பதிலை ஆராய்ந்தால், சில உண்மைகள் புலப்படுகிறது. அந்தப் பெண் "தாவீதின் குமாரன்" என்று அழைத்ததால், இயேசு-"அது சரியே நீ அழைத்தது, நான் காணாமல் போன இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகத்தான் வந்தேன். நீயும் என்னை அப்படித்தான் நினைத்து 'தாவீதின் குமாரனே' என்று அழைக்கிறாய். அவர்களுக்குரியதை எப்படி கேட்கலாம். இராஜ்ஜியம் அவர்களுக்குரியது. அவர்கள்தான் தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர்கள். பிள்ளைகளின் அப்பத்தை எடுத்து நாய் குட்டிகளுக்குப் போடுகிறது நல்லதல்ல" என்று பதில் சொல்லுவது போலிருக்கிறது.
அந்தப் பெண்ணின் வெளிப்பாடு அபரிமிதமானது. "அதற்கு அவள்: மெய்தான் ஆண்டவரே, ஆகிலும் நாய்க்குட்டிகள் தங்கள் எஜமான்களின் மேஜையிலிருந்து விழும் துணிக்கைகளைத் தின்னுமே என்றாள்"(மத்.15:27). அற்புதமான சத்தியம். கிறிஸ்து யூதர்களுக்காகத்தான் வந்தார். எனவே - இரட்சிப்பு அவர்களுக்குரியது. யூதர்களுக்கு ஊழியம் முடிந்த பிறகு, சுவிசேஷம் புற இனத்தவர்களுக்கு வரும் என்று அறிந்திருந்தாள். கீழே விழும் துணிக்கைகளைக் கேட்டாள். மீதம் இருப்பதைக் கேட்டாள். நிரம்பி வழிவதைக் கேட்டாள்.அது போதுமானது என்றாள். இவள், இயேசு உலகத்துக்கு வந்ததின் நோக்கத்தை அறிந்தவள். சத்தியத்தை அறிந்தவள். சத்தியம் அவளை விடுதலையாக்கிவிட்டது.
6. வார்த்தையை அனுப்பி குணப்படுத்தல்
முதலாவது இரட்சிப்பு யூதர்களுக்கு, பிறகு பிற இனத்தவர்களுக்கு உண்டு என்று அறிந்தவள். தன்னுடைய விசுவாசத்தை. நடைமுறைப்படுத்தினாள். விசுவாசம்தான் முக்கியம்.
இயேசு அந்தப் பெண்ணைப் பார்த்து, "ஸ்திரீயே, உன் விசுவாசம் பெரிது, நீ விரும்புகிறபடி உனக்கு ஆகக்கடவது என்றார்".(மத்.15:28). அந்நேரமே வீட்டுலிருந்த அவள் மகள் விடுதலையானாள்-ஆரோக்கியமானாள். "அவர் தமது வசனத்தை அனுப்பி அவர்களை குணமாக்கினார்" (சங்.107:20). இவ்வசனம் இங்கு நிறைவேறியது. உருக்குலைந்த அவள் மகளின் வாழ்க்கை மீண்டும் கட்டி எழுப்பப்பட்டது.
7. சத்தியத்தை அறியுங்கள்
இந்தப் பெண்ணின் மகளைக்குறித்து தேவன் ஒரு பெரிய திட்டத்தை வைத்திருந்தார். சாத்தான் அதை சீர்குலைக்கும் திட்டம் போட்டான். அந்த பெண் சரியான நபர் இயேசுவிடம் வந்ததால், அவள் மகளின் வாழ்க்கை மீண்டும் கட்டப்பட்டது.
வேதத்தில் இந்த பெண்-மகள் குறித்து மீண்டும் எழுதப்படவில்லை. அவர்களது பெயர்களும் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை. ஆனால் இந்த நிகழ்வு, இன்றும் உடைந்த குடும்பங்களை, உருக்குலைந்த அநேகரது வாழ்க்கையை மறு மலர்ச்சி அடையச்செய்கிறது. நாமும் நமது பிள்ளைகளுக்கு உச்சிதமான உணவு, உடை, வசதி, கல்வி கொடுக்கிறோம். ஆனால் நல்ல பெற்றோராக, நல் வழிகாட்டி, தீய பழக்கவழக்கங்கள் அணுகாதபடி பாதுகாக்க தவறிவிடுகிறோம்.
வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது,"சத்தியத்தை அறிவீர்கள், சத்தியம் உங்களை விடுதலையாக்கும்"
