"John the Baptist: Transitioning Eras, Initiating New Covenant in Christ."

John the Baptist

Malachi, the last prophet of the Old Testament, said, "Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me." (Malachi 3:1).

After this, God was silent for 400 years. Then, in the first New Testament comes a priest named Zechariah from the priestly family of Abijah. His wife was Elizabeth, Aaron's daughter. As God announced in the temple to Zechariah, a son named John was born to this elderly couple. He was the only priest born according to God's pre-announcement. This John was filled with the Holy Spirit while still in Elizabeth's womb—the Anointed One.

(The priests who were there at that time were the same priests who planned to kill Jesus). According to God's pre-announcement, John the Baptist was born in Aaron's family at this time. He grows up to 30 years. In those days, the priests offered sacrifices to cleanse the sins committed. But he said, "Repent - Change heart."  To repent and cleanse - he gave baptism in the Jordan and established a new covenant. According to this, he creates a new covenant of baptism to cleanse the sins committed and ‘for repenting - change of heart’ for not committing sin again.

To establish a new covenant, a new priesthood is needed. We need a new priest. This priest was not from the Aaron family. His mother and father are not listed in the genealogy of Aaron's family. He was chosen directly by God according to the order of Melchizedek. This is Jesus Christ.

Now, the authority—power (Torch—change of guard) governance should change. The Old Covenant ends with John the Baptist, and the New Covenant begins with Jesus. 

• The Old Covenant—John the Baptist—and the New Covenant—Jesus—now stand face to face in the Jordan. 
• This is the same place in Jordan where Moses' ministry ended and Joshua's ministry began. 
• Elijah's ministry ended, and Elisha's ministry began.

Now John testified about Jesus, "He who is coming after me is mightier than I, who was before me." He said, "He will increase." John was filled with the Holy Spirit while in his mother's womb. John saw the Spirit of God now descended like a dove and sat on Jesus. From heaven, God acknowledged and said, “This is My beloved Son.” The Aaronic priesthood was replaced. Power has changed hands. (Torch is passed).

He will be an eternal priest.

He will also be a priest in heaven.

The Aaronic Priesthood - The Old Covenant ended—New Covenant - The Royal Priesthood covenant, according to Melchizedek, was initiated by Jesus.

According to this covenant, one should repent to change one's mind.

The ministry given to John the Baptist 
was well fulfilled.

யோவான் ஸ்நானன்

பழைய ஏற்பாட்டு கடைசி தீர்க்கத்தரிசி மல்கியா, "இதோ,நான் என் தூதனை அனுப்புகிறேன். அவன் எனக்கு முன்பாகப் போய், வழியை ஆயத்தம் பண்ணுவான் " (மல்.3:1).என்றான். 

இதன் பிறகு 400 வருடங்கள் தேவன் அமைதியாக இருந்தார். அதன் பிறகு முதன் முதல் புதிய ஏற்பாட்டில் அபியா என்னும் ஆசாரிய குடும்பத்தில் சகரியா என்னும் ஆசாரியன் வருகிறான். ஆரோனுடைய குமாரத்தி எலிசபெத்து இவன் மனைவி. முதிர் வயதான இந்தத் தம்பதிக்கு தேவனுடைய அறிவிப்பின்படி யோவான் என்ற மகன் பிறக்கிறான். கடவுளின் முன்னறிவிப்பின் படி பிறந்த ஒரே ஆசாரியன் இவன்தான். இந்த யோவான் எலிசபெத்துவின் வயிற்றில் இருக்கும் போதே பரிசுத்த ஆவியால் நிரப்பப்பட்டவன்—அபிஷேகம் பண்ணப்பட்டவன். 

(அப்பொழுது இருந்த ஆசாரியர்கள் இயேசுவையே கொலை செய்ய திட்டம் போட்டவர்கள்). இந்த சமயத்தில் ஆரோன் குடும்பத்தில் தேவனின் முன் அறிவிப்பின்படி இவன் பிறக்கிறான். 30 வயது வரை வளருகிறான். ஆசாரியர்கள், செய்த  பாவத்தை சுத்தம் செய்ய பலிசெலுத்துவார்கள். ஆனால் இவன் "மனம் மாற, மனந்திரும்ப" சொன்னான். மனம்மாற- சுத்தம் செய்ய யோர்தானில் ஞானஸ்நானம் - திருமுழுக்குக் கொடுத்து புது உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறான். இதன் படி செய்த பாவத்துக்கு மாத்திரமல்ல பாவம் செய்யாமல் இருக்க மனம்மாறச் சொல்லி ஞானஸ்நான் புது உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறான். 

புது உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்த புது ஆசாரியத்துவம் வேண்டும். புது ஆசாரியன் வேண்டும். இந்த ஆசாரியன் ஆரோன் குடும்பத்தில் வந்தவரல்ல. இவருடைய தாயும், தந்தையும் ஆரோனின் வம்ச வரலாற்றில் இடம் பெறாதவர்கள். இவர் மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் முறைமையின்படி தேவனால் நேரடியாகத் தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர். இவர்தான் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து. 

இப்பொழுது இந்த அதிகாரம் (Torch- Change of guard) ,ஆளுகை மாறவேண்டும். பழைய உடன்படிக்கை யோவான் ஸ்நானனோடு முடிந்து புது உடன்படிக்கை இயேசுவில் ஆரம்பிக்கவேண்டும். 

• பழைய உடன்படிக்கை- யோவான் ஸ்நானனும், புது உடன்படிக்கை- இயேசுவும், இப்பொழுது யோர்தானில் முகமுகமாக நிற்கிறார்கள்.
• மோசேயின் ஊழியம் யோர்தானில் முடிந்து யோசுவாவின் ஊழியம் ஆரம்பித்த இடம். 
• எலியாவின் ஊழியம் முடிந்து எலிசாவின் ஊழியம் ஆரம்பித்த இடம். 

இப்பொழுது இயேசுவைக்குறித்து யோவான் "இவர் என்னிலும் பெரியவர், எனக்கு முன் இருந்தவர்" என்று சாட்சி கூறினான்." இனி அவர் பெருகுவார்" என்றான். யோவான் தாயின் வயிற்றில் இருக்கும்போது பரிசுத்த ஆவியால் நிரப்பப் பட்டிருந்தான். அந்த ஆவியானவர் இப்பொழுது புறாவைப்போல இறங்கி யோவான் காண இயேசுமேல் அமர்ந்தார்.  வானத்திலிருந்து தேவனும் "நீர் என்னுடைய நேச குமாரன்" என்று அங்கிகாரம் கொடுத்தார். ஆரோன்வழியில் வந்த ஆசாரியத்துவம் மாற்றப்பட்டது. அதிகாரம் கைமாறியது. ( Torch is passed).

இவர் நித்திய ஆசாரியனாய் இருப்பார். 

பரலோகத்திலும் ஆசாரியனாய் இருப்பார். 

ஆரோன் வழி வந்த ஆசாரியத்துவம்- பழைய உடன்படிக்கை முடிவுக்கு வந்தது. புது உடன்படிக்கை- மெல்கிசேதேக்கின் படி ராஜரீக குடும்பத்தின் ஆசாரிய உடன்படிக்கை , இயேசுவின் மூலம் ஆரம்பமானது. 

இதன்படி மனம் மாற, மனம்திரும்ப வேண்டும்.

யோவான் ஸ்நானுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட ஊழியம்
 சிறப்பாக நிறைவேறியது.
